While taking a stroll down memory lane, Jack Nicholson’s daughter, Lorraine, recalled spending some time in the Playboy Mansion while growing up.
During an interview with Vanity Fair, Nicholson’s daughter revealed Hugh Hefner’s younger children, Marston and Cooper Hefner, were two of her closest friends growing up. She then spoke about the meals she had in the famous Playboy Mansion. “At the Playboy Mansion, you could order any food you wanted,” she explained. “I would order pods of mashed potatoes and peas.”
Along with speaking about her Playboy Mansion adventures, Jack Nicholson’s daughter reflected on having Marlon Brando as her neighbor. She recalled one time leaving her journal outside and Brando returning it to her home. “Dear Lorraine, you left this in my driveway, love, the fat man next door,” Brando wrote in a note left in the journal.
Jack Nicholson notably has six children. His youngest, Tessa Gourin, was born in August 1994. She is notably estranged from her famous father and claimed earlier this year that he “wasn’t interested” in having a relationship with her. Her mother, Jennine Gourin, once told her to not tell anyone that she has a famous father. “I knew he was powerful and Daddy Warbucks-level rich,” she explained to the Daily Beast. “So I kind of equated my life to being Orphan Annie’s.”
Nicholson notably hasn’t publicly acknowledged Gourin, who is also an actress, as his daughter.
Jack Nicholson Once Said He’s Always ‘Gotten Along’ With His Children
During an interview with AARP Magazine in 2008, Jack Nicholson opened up about fatherhood and how he approaches the relationships he has with his younger children, Lorraine and Ray.
“We’ve always gotten along,” Nicholson said about his children. “I want to be inspirational, or some kind of good influence on them, from childhood on; I think that’s a father’s responsibility.”
Jack Nicholson also said that he has taken his children to things he knew they may not love. This includes the opera and ballet. “They like going to the ball games with me. And they are very comfortable around show business; they are good set rats. They walked in on my death scene in The Departed. I said, ‘If I can get these two kids really worried, I’m doin’ my job!’”
The long-time actor admitted that he has asked more unanswered questions to Lorraine and Ray over the years. “Then you think, ‘Hey, I did not want to hang out with my parents when I was a teenager.’ You have to get over that as a parent.”
Jack Nicholson went on to add that the one thing he doesn’t want to pass along is his irrational fears. “They can be perfect kids, they can try to do everything right – and you’re in the lap of the gods. This is the eternal vulnerability that you have with your children.”
