It’s been almost 30 years since the “X-Files” first premiered, yet fans of the show still get goosebumps remembering it’s spooky tales of finding out the truth behind unexplained investigations.
In 1993, FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully teamed up. They turned out to be one of the most incredible duos in sci-fi history, showcasing unexplainable phenomena on “The X-Files.”
It has been nearly three decades since the many plot twists of the show took the audience by surprise, thanks to the incredible acting of the cast members. Here’s a look at their lives beyond the show.
GILLIAN ANDERSON
Gillian Anderson, then 24-years-old, played the role of special agent Dana Scully since the show first premiered.
She initially had a career in theater before having an on-screen role in “The Turning” and a few television appearances.

However, it was “The X-Files” that launched her successful career and earned her a Golden Globe for its revival. In 1997, Anderson made it to the list of People magazine’s 20 Most Beautiful People in the World.
She has since appeared in the television shows “American Gods,” “Hannibal,” “The Fall,” and the film “Playing by Heart” alongside Angelina Jolie, Sean Connery, Ellen Burstyn, and Dennis Quaid.

MITCH PILEGGI
Mitch Pileggi was the show’s first Walter Skinner, who was first known for his minor roles in “Dallas” and “The A-Team” before joining the “X-Files” cast.
Since the series, the actor has starred in “Stargate Atlantis” and “Sons of Anarchy.” He recently appeared in “Transformers: The Last Knight” and had a recurring role in “Supergirl” as ancient aliens,

On the first day of the year in 1997, Pileggi married Arlene Warren, his second wife, and had one child together.
DAVID DUCHOVNY
Agent Fox Mulder was played by David Duchovny since 1993, after playing a transgender DEA agent on “Twin Peaks.”

The actor also appeared in “Working Girl” and “Chaplin” before the show and reprised his role in the revival of “X-Files.”
Although his career did not shoot up, he starred in seven seasons of “Californication,” “Return to Me,” and “Zoolander,” among others.

ROBERT PATRICK
After Duchovny left the show, Robert Patrick won the role of Agent John Goddet that was coveted by many other actors.
His breakthrough role came before “X-Files,” when he played the liquid-metal shapeshifter in “Terminator 2: Judgement Day.”

In a recent interview, the actor revealed that he is happy to return to the future “Terminator” franchise that is currently in the works.
He also appeared in “Last Action Hero,” “Striptease,” and “Fire in the Sky.” In recent years, Patrick was seen in HBO’s “True Blood,” “Sons of Anarchy,” “From Dusk Till Dawn” The Series,” and “Lore.”

Patrick was also cast in several movies, including “Identity Thief,” “Gangster Squad,” “Trouble with the Curve,” “Lovelace,” “Endless Love,” “Kill the Messenger,” and “The Road Within.”
Apart from being a successful actor, Patrick is an avid supporter of the military and USO, which stems from his family background.
The actor’s grandfather served in the Army during the first and second World War and the Korean War, which influenced his high respect for members of the troops.
Living out his support, Patrick frequently visits USO hospitals and participates in their tours, visiting different countries with over 8,000 members.
ANNABETH GISH
Annabeth Gish joined the “X-Files” cast as Monica Reyes on the eighth season and returned to reprise her role for the show’s revival.
Since her appearance in the sci-fi series, Gish starred on the television shows “The West Wing,” “The Bridge,” “Rizzoli and Isles,” and “Halt and Catch Fire.”
